If so, the Newfoundland Chocolate Company is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced marketing professional to work with our inhouse graphic design and sales team.  At the Newfoundland Chocolate Company we love great chocolate and we have a vision of bringing our delicious chocolates to the world through our best in class retail shops.  We’re a young, vibrant company with a list of business and chocolate accolades and awards.  Our stores are celebrations of all things chocolate and feature cocoa trees, chocolate trains and the tallest chocolate waterfall in Canada!  Our stores also boast the finest, friendliest most down to earth service you’ll find anywhere.  That’s the Newfoundland way and it’s definitely the Newfoundland Chocolate way!  Our stores offer fresh truffles and Italian ice cream which we make fresh on site daily.  We make seriously delicious chocolate but we don’t take ourselves overly serious.  Our chocolate bars are fun and whimsical, featuring colourful Jellybean row houses, as well as the equally colourful language of Newfoundland.  Our boxed chocolates are our proudest feature with absolutely mouth-watering chocolates housed in beautiful themed boxes which pay tribute to Newfoundland’s beauty, charm and culture.

We are seeking an experienced marketing professional to assume the role of Marketing Manager.  Reporting directly to the Senior Manger of Sales and Marketing, the Marketing Manager will lead and expand a talented team overseeing:

  • Social media programs
  • Website management and growth
  • SEO
  • Radio, print and television advertising
  • In-store marketing and merchandising campaigns
  • External sales marketing efforts
  • Guerrilla marketing
  • Execution of marketing plans and budget maintenance

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, or public relations
  • 1-2 years of marketing experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of digital marketing techniques
  • Basic SEO and SEM knowledge
  • Experience working with content management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and build relationships
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail/accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills
  • Self-starter approach to work, with eagerness to consistently exceed objectives
  • The ability to work individually or in a team environment
  • Understanding of, and interest in, social media trends for business
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite

The position is based at our headquarters in St. John’s.  A competitive remuneration and benefits package is available, commensurate with skills and experience.
