We're Hiring!
W A R N I N G !
Those who work
for the Newfoundland Chocolate Company are constantly
exposed to fine chocolate. The aromas of melting chocolate
that emanate from the factory frequently cause new staff to
find religion with expressions such as ‘oh my God!’ Staff
are encouraged to regularly taste our gourmet artisan
chocolates and should be warned that the chances of becoming
a chocolate connoisseur (or snob) are immensely high. New
staff should be prepared to find themselves part of a team
of chocoholics who love nothing more than making, smelling,
admiring, talking about and yes, eating the finest chocolate
made … anywhere. If you already are, or are willing to
become, passionate about all things chocolate, then read on.
We are a proud
Newfoundland company that is growing faster than a Willy
Wonka summersault. We are looking for a handful of
passionate, fun, hard-working professionals to join our
expanding team as we eagerly move our operations into our
new chocolate factory at 166 Duckworth Street. We are
seeking:
Chocolatiers –
Do you love making chocolate? Would you like to join our
team of gifted Chocolatiers who make it their mission to
create breathtakingly beautiful and delicious artisan
chocolates? A pastry arts background with a specialty in
chocolate would be an asset.
Retail – We’re
opening Newfoundland’s first Chocolaterie, or fine chocolate
shop at our new location. We’re looking for friendly,
courteous retailers with an eye for design and a passion
for learning and talking about all things chocolate. Full
and part time hours will be available.
Packaging – do
you have a meticulous eye for detail? We are seeking
diligent, conscientious, nimble-fingered individuals to put
the ‘dressing’ on our products. Experience in gift basket
design is also an asset as is knowing the words to Oompa
Loompa songs.
Please send
your resume, cover letter and references to
info@newfoundlandchocolatecompany.com (please indicate
the position(s) for which you’re applying). The deadline to
apply is September 10, 2010. We thank all applicants for
their interest, however only those selected for an interview
will be contacted.

What makes
Newfoundland Chocolate Company chocolates so special?
First, you’ll not find a group
of chocolatiers more passionate about great chocolate. We
only use the very finest of Belgian, Swiss and French
gourmet couverture chocolate made from only the very
finest of cocoa beans. Our chocolates are pure and free of
additives and preservatives – so they are best enjoyed
before the date indicated (although we have a hunch they’ll
have disappeared long before then!)
Second, every chocolate we make
is created by hand, lovingly and passionately, by our
skilled, artisan chocolatiers. As such, every chocolate in
every box is unique – as unique as the people, places,
culture and landscape of this wonderful, beautiful
Newfoundland and Labrador which we call home.
Third, we believe that truly
great chocolate is pure and should be celebrated, tasted
fully and naturally and never be masked with sweet,
overpowering centres. We strive to find complementary
blends of chocolate with fine, natural ingredients. Each
boxed series features a different array of our favourite
combinations of our finest milk, dark and white chocolates
with nuts, caramels, locally roasted coffees, home made
biscotti and what are inarguably the finest berries to be
found anywhere – our own natural Newfoundland and Labrador
wild berries.
If you are a returning
customer, thank you for giving us an opportunity to share
our passion for exceptional chocolate with you. If you have
not yet discovered Newfoundland Chocolate, please do – you
will not be disappointed. We hope you will savour and enjoy
our chocolates as thoroughly as we enjoyed making them for
you.
Sincerely,
Brent Smith
